More than 300 participants from Belle Fourche, Rapid City, Spearfish and Sturgis are expected to compete as they prepare for the statewide competition, Fall Classic, set for September 19-21 in Rapid City.
The Bocce Tournament will take place at Memorial Park in Rapid City from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on August 23. The Softball Tournament follows the next weekend at Star of the West in Rapid City from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on August 30.
“These tournaments not only give athletes the chance to train and compete, but they also showcase the power of inclusion,” Cathy Grubb, Special Olympics Black Hills Area Sports Director, said. “Our athletes truly enjoy competing in Rapid City and sharing their talents with the community.”
Both tournaments are free and open to the public to attend.
