Meet Mari!
Mari has been with Special Olympics South Dakota for 20 years now and is part of the Sioux Falls Lancers. If you’ve been to a swimming event you have probably seen Mari making laps in the pool! She enjoys participating in softball, bocce, bowling, basketball, athletics, and of course, swimming.
Mari spends her time outside of Special Olympics doing puzzles, boating, cooking, playing Nintendo Wii, and playing piano. She is also part of the handbell choir at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, where you will find her every Sunday. Mari also works at the Sioux Falls School District in the child nutrition department during the school year and doesn’t take time off in the summers, she works at Qualified Presort Services LLC.
Her favorite Special Olympics memory was when she traveled to Washington D.C. for a Unified Athlete Leadership Conference in 2019.
If you see Mari at an event be sure to go say hi
